Adoption Procedures, Fees and Applications

General Procedures
  • All potential adopters must fill out an adoption form and be approved. No exceptions. This takes a few days.
  • We will not hold a certain animal. This is unfair to the animal, as they deserve a new home as soon as possible. (The best way to avoid disappointment and undue stress when you find the right animal for you is to be pre-approved for adoption!)
Fees: Adoption

Prices for both cats and dogs include spay/neuter, first vaccination, deworming, nail clipping, ear cleaning, flea treatment and microchip ID.
Dogs:
  • Adults: $225
  • Puppies (six months of age and under who have been spay/neuter): $275
  • Puppies (unable to be spayed/neutered): $200 + $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is returned to you once we receive proof of spaying/neutering

All dogs adopted will be required to purchase a license for their area at the time of adoption.  All dogs must leave with a suitable leash and collar.

Cats:
  • Adults: $95
  • Kittens (six months of age and under who have been spay/neuter): $155
  • Kittens (unable to be spayed/neutered):  $75 + $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is returned to you once we receive proof of spaying/neutering.
All cats and kittens have been tested for feline leukemia.  All cats and kittens must be transported home in a suitable carrier.
Rabbits:
  • $75 (includes spay/neuter surgery)
Other:
  • Please call the shelter at (506) 857-8698 for fees on rodents and exotics.

  • Cats: $20
  • Dogs: $50
  • Litter of puppies/kittens: $50
  • Domestic Rodents: $15
  • Birds: $15
